Sant'Antioco, a man who fell ill at sea was rushed to Cagliari by air ambulance.

A tourist from Northern Italy felt ill while swimming in the waters off Coa Quaddus beach in Sant'Antioco.

The intervention of the lifeguard of the "Assosulcis" civil protection and of some young people present on the beach was providential, helping him to reach the shore and receive first aid.

The tourist was stabilized on site by air ambulance personnel and then rushed to the Santissima Trinità Hospital in Cagliari. He was vacationing in Calasetta and told rescuers that he had previously suffered from respiratory problems. Local police and barracelli were also on site to manage rescue operations and traffic.
