It was a busy day on the fire front in Sardinia, where 13 blazes were recorded today , four of which required the intervention of the regional fleet's aircraft, to support the teams on the ground engaged in extinguishing operations.

The first fire broke out in the Cardedu countryside , in the F. Pelau area. The flames were put out thanks to the coordination of personnel from the Osini and Tortolì Forestry Corps stations, with the support of the Lanusei GAUF unit and a helicopter from the San Cosimo CFVA base. The Lanusei Fire Department and a Forestas team from the local construction site were also on site.

A second fire broke out in the Sinnai countryside , in the Baccu Sturrui area. The extinguishing operations were complex and involved the Campu Omu Forestry Corps, which coordinated the air response with helicopters from the CFVA bases of Villasalto, Pula, and Fenosu (Super Puma), as well as two Canadairs that took off from Olbia airport. On the ground, two Forestas teams from Burcei and volunteers from Quartu Sant'Elena intervened.

In San Nicolò d'Arcidano , in the Terranova area, the flames were tackled by the Forestry Corps of the Marrubiu and Guspini stations, with the assistance of a helicopter from the CFVA base in Sorgono. Two Forestas teams from Guspini and Arborea, the Barracelli of Terralba, and the local firefighters were also in action. A fire also broke out in Genoni , in the Nuraghe Dom'e Biriu area. The intervention was coordinated by the Forestry Corps of Laconi, supported by a helicopter from the CFVA base in San Cosimo. Volunteers from Laconi and a Forestas team from Nurallao also intervened on the ground.
