The hearing in the Court of Assizes in Sassari of Fabio Farci and Lillina Mancuso, the parents of Massimiliano Farci, 55 from Assemini at the bar for the femicide of Alghero, was postponed to September: his partner, Speranza Ponti , was found dead in January 2020 , the body had been found by the same defendant several weeks after the disappearance, in a peripheral area.
He has always pleaded innocent and claims that the woman killed herself .
The parents were not present today for health reasons, they had a medical certificate for the father, while the absence of the wife was justified by the impossibility of leaving her husband alone.
In the courtroom there was not even Manlio Prainito, the victim's ex-husband, who lives outside Sardinia and was unable to return. He too will be heard in September.
While today two witnesses have deposed : the first is Francesca Serra, a former employee of Farci, who worked in her pizzeria in December 2019, precisely in the period that coincides with the death of Speranza. "Farci was nervous and stressed in those days", said the woman, answering questions from prosecutors, Angelo Beccu and Beatrice Giovannetti, from the lawyer Daniele Solinas (defender of the 55-year-old) and from the plaintiffs, Stefano Carboni and Edoardo Morette. "He was a very sociable type with customers, friendly with everyone, so much so that sometimes Speranza got annoyed if he spent a long time with customers," he continued.
The other witness, Angela Paddeu, a longtime friend of the victim, spoke of Speranza as a person who "was afraid of everything, but was very determined. She said she was happy, but I was against her being tied to Farci because she had known him for a short time. That is why we had had discussions and drifted apart. " The trial will resume on September 20.
