A tragedy not only for one family, but for the whole country.

Pier Paolo Scalas , 51, formerly the owner of a supermarket, passed away in a few months after suffering from cancer.

Shocking news for the community of Sestu , which follows that of the death of his wife, Emanuela Orrù , which took place in 2021 at the age of 49 again from cancer, and which leaves both children orphaned.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday 14 February, in the parish of San Giorgio Martire, at 3 pm.

Scalas and Orrù were two important people for everyone, engaged as they were in numerous activities of the Pro Loco.

Emanuela was the sister of former president Nazzareno and the current president Mario Ziulu comments as follows: «This news is making us suffer a lot, a shocking drama. I wished these two boys a world of good, they were always ready to offer a hand and lend themselves one hundred percent. We are offering all our psychological support to the family.

Even the San Gemiliano committee has decided to cancel the celebrations for the upcoming carnival, which should have been held on Saturday. “Sad news reached us today, the loss of Paolo, a very dear friend of ours.
