A seventy-eight-year-old man drowned this morning while bathing in Solanas. The tragedy unfolded before his wife and daughter's eyes.

A patrol boat from the Cagliari Port Authority arrived immediately to recover the body, which had been washed ashore by the waves. Emergency responders arrived on the beach aboard the Areus helicopter , but there was nothing more they could do for the 78-year-old man—whose identity is currently unknown.

The investigations were carried out by the Carabinieri of the Maracalagonis station.
