Sassari, the M5S splits over support for the Campus council
Senator Licheri: «We are no longer in the majority». But local representatives think differently: away with the symbol?
5stars against 5stars between Sassari and the Region.
Senator Ettore Licheri, regional coordinator of the Five Star Movement, signed a note in the evening with an explicit message: «The 5 Star Movement will no longer support the majority of the Sassari municipality».
A sentence that clashes with the opposite one pronounced this morning at a press conference by the four 5-stars present in the majority of the streets of the Turritan capital.
"The M5S of Sassari - declared the Five Star Movement - fully confirms its support for Mayor Campus". Statement motivated by the many rumors that they would soon leave after the agreement between Alessandra Todde and Campo Largo, of which the Democratic Party, a common opponent of the M5S, is part.
“We have not received any ultimatums,” they said. Yet Licheri's document, ratified by national president Giuseppe Conte, puts them in the crosshairs. «An attempt has been made several times to bring all the political contradictions to the attention of the council group without ever reaching a synthesis but only a dilatory outcome that is no longer acceptable».
It is now possible that the symbol of the Movement will be removed from the four.
