Added to the list of emergencies is the chaos of ATA staff assignments , thousands of administrative, auxiliary (formerly janitor) and temporary technicians currently swamped in the choice of locations, an online procedure diverted to the platform opened by the provincial school offices which, between system crashes and problems with the interface, is proving to be a hellish trap.

In this great confusion, on September 15th the 170 thousand (and slightly more) Sardinian students will answer the first bell, a contingent increasingly eroded due to the declining birth rate, with an average of 5 thousand fewer students each year and 35 thousand desks left empty in the last decade .

When schools reopen on the island, the coordination of the presidents of the school boards warned, "many principals will be missing and there will be thirteen school autonomies under regency regime, most of them in peripheral areas" .
