Tomorrow, Friday 4 April at 5 pm, in the council chamber of the Municipality of San Sperate in via Sassari 12, the 2024 Rosalia Uras Award ceremony will be held. It was awarded to Dr. Beatrice Sanna, following an examination of several degree theses, by the Scientific Committee chaired by Dr. Raimondo Ibba, with the participation of professors Paolo Contu and Antonello Pani, for the thesis entitled “Evaluation of the prodromes of Multiple Sclerosis: development of a retrospective questionnaire and its use in a group of patients and controls”, with professor Eleonora Cocco as supervisor.
The award ceremony, which will be attended by the presidency of the Fondazione Sardegna, a supporter of the Award, as well as national, regional and local public authorities. Among others, the President of the Sardinia Region, Alessandra Todde, is expected, institutional commitments permitting. On this occasion, Paolo Pillonca, journalist, writer and poet, who dedicated a large part of his life to promoting and defending the political and cultural identity of the Sardinian people, will be remembered . This memory is entrusted to the direct testimonies of Sardinian journalists and writers Bachisio Bandinu, Tonino Oppes, Franco Siddi, to the words and music of Piero Marras, to the reflections of Antonello Cabras, Emilio Floris, Francesco Agus and Maria Francesca Chiappe.
The “Rosalia Uras – Medica” Award was established by the Association of the same name, together with the Municipality of San Sperate, with the support of the Fondazione Sardegna, and the partnership of the Coop. Sociale il “SEME” and the Neighborhood Committee “Villaggio Pescatori di Giorgino”, to remember Rosalia Uras, a woman and a surgeon of great humanity , and to give a small sign of consideration and encouragement to young graduates who have discussed innovative theses in Sardinian universities.
