Seven inspectors were sent to the island this morning by the Ministry of Health to shed light on the story of the young woman who had a miscarriage last January 8 after being rejected by the obstetric-gynecological emergency room of the Aou di Sassari because - as she denounced - without the result of a molecular swab.

The ministerial officials met with the general director of the university hospital, Antonio Spano, with the medical director, Franco Bandiera, with the head of the medical department, Bruno Contu, and with the director of the Gynecology and Obstretrics facility, Giampiero Capobianco. The group visited the facility where the facts occurred - according to what was reported by the pregnant woman and her husband, assisted by the lawyer Gabriele Sechi - the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office is also interested.

The inspectors then met with the medical team on duty that day. At the moment nothing is leaked on the activity carried out or on the conclusions drawn by the emissaries of the Ministry who should conclude their inspection today.

THE FACTS - The 25-year-old Alessia Nappi, five weeks pregnant, reported being welcomed in the emergency room of the San Pietro hospital by a midwife who asked her about the outcome of the molecular swab for Covid. Not having it, he would have asked to do it there, but without success. After 20 minutes in the waiting room, while the losses continued, the midwife reported that she had spoken to the doctor, for whom nothing could be done being the first month of pregnancy. Asked to go home, take a tachypirin and come back the following Monday with the result of the molecular swab, the woman in the clinic parking lot suffered severe pain and bleeding. When she got home she had a heavy bleeding and lost her baby.
