Urgent flight of the Air Force yesterday afternoon to try to save the life of a newborn baby of just five days. The connection between the airport of Cagliari and that of Linate was effected with the new aircraft G650 of the 31st Wing of the Air Force.
Upon arrival at Cagliari airport, the G650 took on board the newborn from the Policlinico "Duilio Casula", accompanied by some family members, and immediately took off for Milan.
Landed at the airport of the Lombardy capital, the group continued its journey towards the Irccs Policlinico San Donato Milanese. The G650 then returned to Ciampino, home of the 31st Wing.
The request for intervention came from the Prefecture of Cagliari to the Air Force Situation Room of the Milan Air Team Command, which immediately activated the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the Departments that carries out the operational readiness service for this type of mission and which recently modernized its fleet with the new G650 aircraft.
This is the first emergency transport for the G650 aircraft, which in recent weeks had already been used to transport organs and a medical team for transplantation.
