The first effects of the "red zone" established in Piazza del Carmine in Cagliari: four people have been removed and a woman has been reported for resisting arrest and failing to comply with the authorities' orders.

Yesterday, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Cagliari Provincial Command, supported by those of the Stampace Station, carried out an extraordinary territorial control service in the area recently identified as a reinforced protection zone , in implementation of the Prefect's ordinance adopted after the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety.

Several dozen people have been identified, and four of them – three men and a woman, aged between 24 and 36, originally from Pakistan, Ghana, Guinea and Kenya, some of them homeless and already known to the police – have been issued with removal orders for behaviour that is disruptive and potentially dangerous for the community .

All operations were conducted peacefully, according to law enforcement, except for one incident where a 36-year-old woman from Gallura insulted and threatened officers, stripped naked, and resisted . The woman was arrested and reported for insulting and assaulting a public official, as well as for indecent exposure. Despite the order to remove her, a few hours later she was caught again in the same square, for which she was reported for failure to comply with the authorities' orders .

The activities will continue in the coming weeks, "with the aim of strengthening the sense of security and effectively monitoring the urban spaces most frequented by the community."
