A huge crowd attended the funeral of Salvatore Piras , the young 23-year-old bricklayer from Ossi who died in an accident at work on the morning of Friday 15 April in a warehouse in the industrial area of Sorso.

The funeral took place this afternoon at 3 pm in the church of San Bartolomeo di Ossi.

The whole town (and not only that) stopped for the funeral, still upset by the pain of the sudden loss of a young life like that of Salvatore Piras, a generous boy and well-liked by everyone.

For today the two mayors of Ossi and Sorso, Pasquale Lubinu and Fabrizo Demelas, naturally present at the funeral ceremony, proclaimed the city mourning.

The emotion and commotion inside and outside the church were palpable. At the exit of the body, the crowd dissolved in a long applause.

Dozens of motorcyclists, friends of Salvatore Piras, a great lover of two wheels, started the engines and made them roar. Their unique and effective way to greet a dear friend who is no longer there.
