In Oristano, the controversy continues in the aftermath of the collapse of the gate of the Sacro Cuore primary school.
The episode , which fortunately occurred around 1pm without causing any injuries, is at the centre of a questioning by centre-left city councillors .
«The seriousness of the accident is unquestionable considering that the gate fell right in the spot where children accompanied by their parents usually stop - claims the first signatory Umberto Marcoli - the situation could have had tragic consequences» .
Fueling the concern of minority groups is the fact that just a month ago a similar case occurred at the Sinis-Nurra athletics field, where part of the fence collapsed, falling on some parked cars and putting at risk the safety of students who had been passing through the area a few moments earlier.
"Both episodes - the document reads - raise serious questions about the safety of public and school facilities in the city ."
The opposition members ask the mayor, Massimiliano Sanna , and the councilor for culture, Luca Faedda «what maintenance work has been carried out recently on school facilities, whether extraordinary checks or urgent interventions have been planned and how the Municipality intends to ensure that all school and public facilities are in optimal safety conditions».
