A veritable arsenal of six hunting rifles, three of which were semi-automatic and equipped with precision sights, all with their serial numbers erased. Then came 10 sticks of high-powered dynamite, eight detonators, one kilo of cocaine, 12 kilos of marijuana, and €5,000 in cash.

This is the result of a police operation that executed several search warrants against eight people living between Orgosolo and Nuoro, uncovering a veritable arsenal.

The investigation, coordinated by the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office and conducted by the Nuoro Police Headquarters' Flying Squad, concerned arms and cocaine trafficking.

During the searches, the Flying Squad also found and seized numerous items and arrested a criminal from Orgosolo. Seven other people, residents of the town and Orgosolo, were reported at large.

During the executions, several police officers from the Orgosolo and Gavoi Police Stations, the "Sardegna" Crime Prevention Unit, the Bomb Squad of the Cagliari Police Headquarters, the canine units of the Oristano Police Headquarters and the Penitentiary Police were employed.

The seized explosive material, oozing and highly unstable, presumably ready for use in an attack , was made safe and, on the orders of the Nuoro Public Prosecutor's Office, detonated in a safe place by the operators of the Bomb Squad of the Cagliari Police Headquarters.

The weapons found, all with their serial numbers removed, have been subjected to investigations to determine whether they were used to commit other crimes.
