The consequences of the attack on a man of Apulian origins, which occurred around 5:00 PM today in Olbia, on the central Corso Umberto , are extremely serious. The forty-two-year-old died in the operating room, where he had been taken in critical condition after being struck by multiple stab wounds. Immediately after being stabbed on the sidewalk, he had gone into cardiac arrest due to the severe injuries to his internal organs. The stabs were delivered forcefully to the chest, directed towards the heart.

The man, transferred to the emergency room of the John Paul II Hospital, had undergone numerous transfusions, but unfortunately all the efforts of the doctors of the team that deals with extreme emergencies proved in vain.

The victim, a 42-year-old originally from Canosa and resident in Barletta, may have arrived on Corso Umberto by bicycle. The Carabinieri are investigating the possibility of an argument between people looking for accommodation in the streets of downtown Olbia. The victim tested positive for alcohol and drugs.

The Carabinieri have already acquired footage from the video surveillance systems active in the area. Law enforcement is searching throughout Olbia for a 30-year-old man, possibly of Egyptian nationality.
