Motorcyclist in critical condition after hitting pedestrian at Poetto Beach in Quartu

Yet another collision occurred this afternoon on the Quartu stretch of Poetto. A few steps from the Marinella roundabout, heading towards Cagliari, a pedestrian crossing when the light was green was struck, for reasons yet to be determined, by a scooter rider coming from Margine Rosso .

The scooter driver was the one who got the worst of it, falling to the ground upon impact and being taken to the hospital with critical injuries . The pedestrian, however, was treated at the scene without incident.

Local police officers are conducting investigations to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident. Among the hypotheses is the low setting sun, which may have limited visibility. The road has been closed to traffic while the rescue operations are being completed. On the same stretch of road, a car caught fire this morning while traveling toward Margine Rosso.
