"The decision was adopted - we read in a note - to protect all political forces, in order to avoid the discussion of topics with obvious political implications in a delicate period such as the electoral campaign".
The center-left minority had intervened critically on the issue, having judged the choice of the coalition supporting Mayor Sanna as "absurd and disrespectful towards citizens".
