Space economy, workshops with students, international guests, space talks and networking between companies and stakeholders, the second edition of the Aerospace Festival, directed by aerospace engineer Marilisa Pischedda, closes its doors with an excellent balance also in terms of attendance. Over 1000 visitors every day who showed curiosity and interest in the wonders of the cosmos and, thanks to the exhibition area, were able to learn about and, in some cases, touch with their hands, innovations related to the aerospace sector.
With the aerospace sector, Sardinia can go to the world and the world can come to the Island; the support and attention provided by the Sardinia Region are fundamental, as specified by the vice governor, Giuseppe Meloni, and by the important resources allocated by the Government, "one and a half billion resources of Por Fesr funds for aerospace", as recalled by Massimo Temussi, general director of active labor policies of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies. Equally important is to strengthen communication by showing the rest of the world the high level of planning and innovation that is already implemented on the Island, thanks to the Universities and research centers, and the many potentials offered.
Among the most evocative moments was the connection with the “extraterrestrial” Concordia station, in the Antarctic Plateau, between Marilisa Pischedda and the engineer and researcher Marco Buttu, who talked about the research activities that are being carried out in Antarctica, and the meeting with the astronaut Walter Villadei, protagonist of the third private mission directed towards the international space station (ISS) organized by Axiom Space. The rich program of the three days concluded with the preview presentation of the results of the innovative Hems project by Areus (Azienda Regionale Emergenza Urgenza Sardegna) which, in collaboration with Sardegna Ricerche, launched the project on the future of helicopter rescue. For helicopter pilots, the best solutions to facilitate flight in difficult conditions thanks to the use of webcams and latest-generation on-board instrumentation.
