The operator of a car wash in Olbia , caught dumping industrial wastewater into the public sewer, was fined by the Coast Guard of the North Sardinia Maritime Directorate.

The activity did not have any authorization and did not have the sludge and waste loading and unloading register, necessary to note the production and correct disposal.

Now the manager will have to pay an administrative fine of 5,166 euros to which another 2,500 euros must be added to regularize his position. The investigations on the possibility that these discharges had caused damage to the environment ruled out that there was a concrete danger.

The military, under the guidance of the Maritime Environmental Coordination Center, had carried out some inspections and checks within the activity, only to discover that the authorizations had expired for over a year.
