On September 15, the Directorate General for the Sea, Maritime Transport and Inland Waterways of the Ministry of Transport awarded the public maritime transport service for passengers, vehicles, and goods between Civitavecchia , Arbatax , and Cagliari and vice versa, and between Naples , Cagliari , and Palermo and vice versa, with public service obligations for maritime territorial continuity.
Both tenders went to Grimaldi Euromed Spa , which has managed the service until today and will continue to do so for another five years, with three trips per week.
The tender process for the Genoa-Porto Torres and vice versa route is still open, with a total contract value of €54,887,902. This maritime continuity service is currently operated by Tirrenia.
