Tragedy in the night in Maracalagonis along the provincial road that leads from the town to the Gannì crossroads and the old Sardinian Orientale.

The victim, Danilo Ghiani, 22 years old from Quartucciu, was driving a BMW near the industrial area of Maracalagonis: for reasons still under investigation the car skidded and ended up off the road.

The alarm was immediately raised by passing motorists with phone calls to the Quartu police and to 118. Rescued and placed in the same ambulance, the boy was accompanied to Brotzu where he died.

The legal investigations are carried out by the Carabinieri of the Quartu mobile radio unit coordinated by Captain Ignazio Cabras.

The young man was alone in the car, perhaps he was returning home. The Public Prosecutor's Office has already been informed of the matter.
