It's not raining, but the disruption remains in San Basilio, a town 24 kilometers from the old Orientale Sarda highway. A dirt road branches off from the asphalt. Five families live further up the road, currently trapped, trapped by a narrow dirt road that has become impassable.
The San Basilio stream did not spare the roadway, devastating it and even creating real craters . It was impossible to drive through. Mayor Francesca Fadda, who will become the mother of her fourth child in a few months, was on site. Also on site were the Civil Protection Department, the local police, and the barracelli. In short, assistance was provided to isolated families, including those with children and teenagers who would like to return to school tomorrow.
The rescuers brought everything from food to wood pellets to help residents heat their homes. There was no shortage of emotion: "It's true," said Maura Patteri, "we saw the mayor arrive with a group of rescuers carrying bags. They brought us food, but also the promise of sending a bulldozer to repair, albeit temporarily, the "Is Piricoccus" road, so we could move around with our vehicles again and reach the Orientale Sarda without risk. We are hopeful: this afternoon we received a beautiful gesture of solidarity. We sincerely thank the mayor and all the rescuers who came with her; we had a wonderful moment when they arrived."
Residents of the isolated homes are working to repair the nearby stretch of road. Other families have been rescued in the "Cava Loi" area.
