The race for Sassari's new rector will be a runoff between Morandi and Chessa.
Sergio Uzzau, professor of Microbiology, leaves the race having received 194 preferences

Francesco Morandi and Omar Chessa will face off in the rectorial race in Sassari.
The former, a full professor of Tourism Law, received 267 votes today in the second round of elections, following Monday's; the latter, a full professor of Constitutional Law, received 227. Sergio Uzzau, a full professor of Microbiology, exited the race having received 194 preferences.
The results were announced today by Electoral Commission Chairman Antonio Piga in the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari. The runoff election will be held on Monday, September 28th, and the candidate with the most votes will prevail.
