The historic church of San Pietro di Ponte, nestled in the monumental cemetery on Via Marconi, opens its doors to visitors after the recently completed conservative restoration , funded by the Municipality and the Ministry of Culture.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26th, and is promoted by the Superintendency of Archaeology, in collaboration with the Municipality and Studio DMC, as part of the European Heritage Days taking place this weekend. Guided tours will depart at 10:00, 11:00, and 12:00, following a five-stage itinerary that combines the history, materials, and challenges of the construction site.

After an introduction by Antonio Conti, City Councilor for Public Works, and an in-depth discussion on the European Days by architect Stefano Montinari, an official with the Superintendency, the public will be guided through a rich itinerary featuring scholarly contributions from technicians and history experts who worked on the restoration. For Montinari, " the restitution of the church of San Pietro di Ponte represents a milestone of the highest importance for the protection of the area's cultural heritage . The effective synergy between local authorities, the ministry, and professionals has enabled us to overcome significant conservation issues, safeguarding a highly valuable late Romanesque and Gothic architecture."
