Another water emergency in Sassari. ENAS, Sardinia's water authority, has reported a further break in the Coghinas 2 aqueduct, which supplies the Abbanoa water treatment plants in Truncu Reale and Monte Agnese.

The fault occurred in Castelsardo, causing a worsening of the already critical situation that has been going on for days. It is reported that "its repair will require a 24-hour shutdown of the pipeline."

The situation in Sassari will result in a water shutoff from 6:00 PM this evening, Wednesday, September 23, 2026, until 8:00 AM the following morning, and tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 AM the following morning in the following neighborhoods: Li Punti, Predda Niedda, Centro Storico, Monte Rosello Basso, Sacro Cuore, Latte Dolce, Santa Maria di Pisa, Porcellana, and Piandanna. Water will then be shut off from 8:00 PM until 8:00 AM the following morning, both this evening, Wednesday, September 23, and tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, in the neighborhoods of Lu Fangazzu, San Paolo, San Giuseppe, Monserrato, Tingari, Monte Rosello Medio, Sassari 2, Badde Pedrosa, Monte Furru Valle Gardona, and Gioscari. Finally, water will be shut off from 12:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, until 11:00 AM the following morning in the Nurra district of Sassari: La Corte, Palmadula, Argentiera, La Pedraia, and Biancareddu.
