A new expert report has hypothesized the cause of death: Manuela could have been hit by a car, the day she disappeared, and her body abandoned in an area then frequented only by drug addicts. The story bounced from newspapers to TV, until the turning point in Piazza Repubblica, where work is now underway to understand who could have killed the woman who the news at the time had called a suburban Cinderella.

Those who loved Manuela want to keep the attention high. This morning the family met with the mayor Massimo Zedda, "a person of great sensitivity and attention.
