Sassari pays tribute to the fallen of all wars: the ceremony at the military shrine

A commemoration of the fallen of all wars was held today in Sassari during a ceremony held at the military shrine in the cemetery.
An event that aimed to commemorate and preserve the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives in service to their country.
Laurel wreaths were laid at the war memorial and on the tombs of former Presidents of the Republic Antonio Segni and Francesco Cossiga, and former Regional Presidents Paolo Dettori, Antonio Giagu De Martini, and Pietro Soddu.
Present for the occasion were the highest civil, religious, and military authorities of the area, along with the joint honor guard, composed of soldiers from the "Sassari" Brigade and representatives of the state armed forces, who thus underscored the institutional and solemn significance of the commemoration. Veterans' and military associations also participated, along with the families of Sardinian soldiers who fell at home and in peacekeeping missions abroad.
