The importance and role of the territories, the activity of the mayors and the municipalities were the central themes of a meeting in Mandas between the prefect of Cagliari Giuseppe Castaldo and the mayors and representatives of over twenty municipalities of Trexenta, Gerrei, Sarcidano and Barbagia di Seulo.

The prefect, who has always believed in direct contact with the territories, has decided to understand and touch the problems first-hand and, above all, where the places are lived. With the aim of personally verifying the reports that arrive on his desk, he wanted to meet the mayors to better understand the local realities. All with the aim of finding concrete and shared solutions. Starting with security.

In all the interventions, we read in a note, "the great problem of the new social challenges, in particular those related to the youth world. Not repression but great activity on the educational aspect and on prevention. A great pact and a real synergy between institutions, families, school and associations".

Castaldo thanked the mayor and the community of Mandas for the warm welcome and assured the constant institutional collaboration by the Territorial Office of the Government on the various issues that concern the territory, with a view to a fruitful and renewed attention towards local communities.

"The purpose of my visit today," declared Prefect Castaldo, "is to be close to the mayors and get to know the communities, to appreciate their beauty and analyze their critical issues. I am convinced that the best method to address the complexities of a territory and offer concrete answers is interinstitutional collaboration, in the interest of the citizens and the economic and social fabric."

The mayor of Mandas Umberto Oppus, on behalf of all the mayors present, in addition to thanking the prefect for the visit and the operational meeting, will be at work from tomorrow together with all the municipalities of the territory to formally present the requests discussed and start a discussion on the individual issues together with the various institutions starting with the Carabinieri and the Police Forces.
