From property confiscated from criminals to heritage returned to the community, and now also open to visitors. For the first time, Ville Jacques Couëlle in Monti Mannu, in Abbiadori, will open its doors to the public on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th, during the FAI Autumn Days.

This marks a new step in the process initiated by the Municipality of Arzachena to restore and enhance the complex built in the 1960s by French architect Jacques Couëlle, one of the key figures in the birth of the Costa Smeralda architectural style. The complex, approximately 30,000 square meters of buildings and agricultural land, estimated to be worth over €37 million, was transferred last May from the National Agency for Seized and Confiscated Assets to the Municipality's unavailable assets.

On Saturday, tours are scheduled from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with last admission at 5:00 pm. Admission is by donation in support of the FAI (Italian National Trust). A press presentation will also be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, with Mayor Roberto Ragnedda, Regional Councilor and City Councillor for Heritage Cristina Usai, Deputy Mayor Alessandro Malu, and Tourism Councilor Claudia Giagoni.

Meanwhile, a permanent destination is being prepared for Ville Couëlle: the Administration's plan calls for the creation of the first Costa Smeralda Museum, with exhibition spaces, meeting rooms, educational workshops, a bookshop, and a café. Next weekend's opening will therefore also be a first opportunity to showcase to the community a heritage that has until now remained largely inaccessible.
