Businco, work is slow: "The delay is intolerable, the construction site must be placed under special administration."
Completion is scheduled for December, but everything is up in the air. USB criticizes: "The project is still a concrete skeleton; patients and workers are paying the price."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Work is progressing slowly, and there aren't many workers on site, according to someone who passes by every day. The new operating rooms at Businco won't be inaugurated as soon as promised. The USB, which hasn't given up and continues its fight, warns: "After more than sixteen months, the project is still just a concrete skeleton. We're calling for immediate administration."
The story
Gianfranco Angioni, regional representative for USB Sanità, continues to punctually document the building's progress. "We are facing a disaster waiting to happen. The delay is now intolerable, and it seriously calls into question the announced deadline of the end of December 2026, which is now hard to believe given the construction site. And those paying the highest price are cancer patients, their families, and workers."
Strategic project
Just under a month ago, in response to USB's previous complaint, the company, through its general manager Maurizio Marcias, announced that the work was proceeding properly, and emphasized that this is "a strategic project, a work of extraordinary importance for the entire regional healthcare system. Businco is, in fact, the only hospital entirely dedicated to cancer treatment in Sardinia."
But the USB insists, and returns to the charge: "The construction site must be immediately placed under special administration, with the appointment of a commissioner with extraordinary powers, adequate resources, and full operational capacity. We also demand the full publication of the executive project, an updated, realistic, and binding timetable, as well as a certified and sworn progress report."
