The Municipality of Mandas is accelerating efforts to secure the area between Via Sant'Antonio and Via Manno and begin reconstruction of the stone wall that collapsed in recent weeks due to the severe weather and strong winds that hit the entire area. The municipal council, led by Mayor Umberto Oppus, has approved the executive project for the new project, an investment of over €130,000. "Starting tomorrow, we'll be working on the new stone wall," the mayor announced. "We're proceeding in record time and hope to complete everything within a month."
Immediately after the collapse, the municipal administration issued an ordinance prohibiting pedestrians and bicycles in the affected area, simultaneously initiating technical inspections and the necessary safety measures. The road was temporarily closed to allow for inspections and temporary work. The reconstruction phase has now begun, which will be carried out following the guidelines of the Landscape Protection Office, respecting the building's original characteristics and constraints. The government's goal is to complete the construction site within a month, barring unforeseen circumstances, thus completing an effort long overdue after last month's collapse.
