Ciro Grillo and the three friends accused in Tempio Pausania for group sexual violence were sent to trial.
This was decided by the judge for the preliminary hearing Caterina Interlandi, accepting the request of the prosecutor Gregorio Capasso, after an hour in the Council Chamber. The defensive panel had instead urged the non-place to proceed and asked that it proceed with the ordinary rite.
The son of the founder of the Cinquestelle will go to trial with Edoardo Capitta, Vittorio Lauria and Francesco Corsiglia: they risk up to 12 years.
The facts date back to the summer of 2019: the four are accused of sexual violence against a 19-year-old Italian-Norwegian girl - from whose complaint the investigation had sprung - in Grillo's summer villa in Porto Cervo, after an evening spent in the locales of the Costa Smeralda.
The first hearing was set for March 16, 2022.
"The accusatory system held up for the purposes of the preliminary hearing", is the only comment of the prosecutor Capasso, who announced that he will follow the trial. "I followed the investigation from the beginning - he explained - the three substitutes are very young and two of them arrived very recently".
For Giulia Bongiorno, the victim's lawyer: "My client is undergoing something very heavy - she reveals - forced not to watch TV so as not to hear anything about her, to receive newspaper articles in which she is spoken of, forced to read his name and surname ". In short, "I am not happy, but I am satisfied, my client is still suffering and I waited to say that there was a distortion by some newspapers and the girl ended up in the dock, but the evidence tells a truth different". Among other things, Bongiorno pointed out, "in the case of sexual violence, for the Supreme Court the declaration of the offended person, if deemed reliable, is enough to go to trial. Here there is much more".
