Fraud in Afef, cook sentenced in Nuoro
To the woman originally from Lodè and resident in Lula 2 months and a fine of 200 euros
Cheated and in turn - perhaps unwittingly - complicit in that scam against the Tunisian model Afef Jnifen. For this reason, yesterday the judge of the Court of Nuoro, Claudia Falchi Delitala, sentenced the cook of Lodè, but resident in Lula, 47 years old, to two months in prison and a 200 euro fine.
The story
The story that revolves around the ex-wife of Pirelli's CEO, Marco Tronchetti Provera, is unbelievable. An intertwining of famous people, which involves, even if not directly, the names of Pope Francis and Oscar Pistorius. In the summer of 2016, Afef's personal email was hacked. The hackers, by sending a false letter to the secretary of the model and TV presenter, asked to arrange a bank transfer. The secretary, in good faith, and thinking that the order came from Afef, made the transfer: 7,500 euros. That money was deposited in an account of the Banco di Sardegna in the name of Vargiu, who has always defended herself by explaining that she too had been scammed by the same gang, but ended up under accusation for receiving stolen goods. On the other hand, there is no trace of cyber pirates.
The Pope and Pistorius
Vargiu had said that she was convinced that the money was the payment of what was paid in advance to an elusive friend of Pistorius, whom she met years earlier when she worked as a cook for Parma Calcio, and who asked her for financial help to pay for the South African's legal troubles. Money that Vargiu would send to South Africa. So much so that, just to help Pistorius, Vargiu (months earlier) tried to get a meeting with Pope Francis, managing to get the answer from the prefect of the papal household, Georg Gänswein. The prefect explained to her that it was possible to meet the Pope only in one of the general audiences. Finished under indictment, Vargiu said she was contacted via Facebook by a certain Carleo, Pistorius's brother, who announced the return of the money lent. The 7,500 euros came from Afef's account. Along with those the troubles and now the condemnation.
