A beloved doctor, a hospital that loses a key figure and an entire Island that does not agree. Tuesday 6 May at 10, in front of the Businco Oncology Hospital, citizens, patients, colleagues and activists will gather to loudly demand the reinstatement of Dr. Massimiliano Tuveri at Brotzu.

The demonstration, promoted by the committee #GiùLeManiDallOgliastra, was born from the desire to defend not only a professional, but also the right to care, transparency and respect for human dignity.

The removal from his post of the oncologist known for his competence and humanity, has shocked not only the health personnel , but hundreds of patients who have trusted him for years. A removal that, according to the committee promoting the sit-in, would have occurred in the absence of clear and shared explanations, generating dismay and a growing popular mobilization.

"We cannot stand by and watch," reads the poster circulating online and on social media. An appeal that captures the discomfort of those who have been fighting for years against the progressive impoverishment of public health.

For many, Dr. Tuveri represents the very image of a medicine close to the people, hence the mobilization from every corner of the Island: even the petition started on change.org is bearing fruit, in fact, more than 11 thousand signatures have already been collected .
