Starting from May 13th and until May 18th, Sa Festa manna de Mesu maju: presented this morning in the Basilica of San Simplicio in Olbia, the program of events to celebrate the patron saint of the city and Gallura. Confirmed are the liturgical events that open with the gathering of ex-voto flags and the triduum dedicated to the Patron Saint, punctuated by the daily celebration of the mass, and culminate with the ceremonies on the day of the martyrdom: May 15th opens with the sound of the Diana through the streets of the city at the first light of dawn, followed by the solemn pontifical mass, at 11:30 in the churchyard of the Basilica, presided over by the bishop of the Diocese of Tempio Ampurias, Monsignor Roberto Fornaciari, (live on Videolina) and closes with the procession that passes through the streets where the martyrdom of Simplicio took place.

Among the events, on the stage of the urban park Fausto Noce, the Roman singer-songwriter Fabrizio Moro, the Tazenda with Alberto Bertoli, the cabaret evening with the mayor of Scraffingiu, Alessandro Pili, and the show Isola in festa by Giuliano Marongiu. Expected are the traditional Sagra delle cozze, offered by the Committee of the celebrations, and the Palio della stella in which the Municipalities of Gallura compete for the gonfalon of San Simplicio to be kept in the town hall.
