Last weekend, between Friday 15 and Sunday 17 March, was the bloodiest since the beginning of the year on Italian roads, with 25 victims, a sharp increase compared to the previous weekend (16). This was revealed by Asaps, the Association of supporters and friends of the traffic police, based in Forlì.

And Sardinia, unfortunately, is at the top of the darkest of the rankings.

There were four victims on the island: three in the terrible collision which occurred on the Sassari-Alghero road, at the crossroads for Tottubella (where Chiara Urgias, almost 17 years old, Christian Foddai, twenty years old, both from Sassari, and Antonio Luigi Murineddu, from 41 years old) and one in the crash on the 125 in Orosei , where a three-month-old baby, Alessandro Zamatretta Delgado, was killed.

Before Sardinia, among the regions most affected by recent road tragedies, there is Lazio, where as many as six victims were recorded.

Overall - Asaps notes - in Italy, between Friday and Saturday, 16 motorists, 5 motorcyclists and 4 pedestrians lost their lives.
