Poetto beach has narrowed by 20 meters since the 1970s. The Margine Rosso, on the other hand, shows an expansion of the beach. Other critical points are at Kal'e Moru, Flumini and Capitana: in the latter location the strip of sand has now disappeared.

This is what emerges from the study on the phenomenon of coastal erosion in Quartu presented today in the Town Hall. An analysis desired by the Municipality and carried out by the Kibernetes company with satellite instruments.

The data are not yet definitive: the complete dossier will be delivered in via Eligio Porcu only in October. But the main critical issues have already emerged.

«They concern different points of the 26 kilometers of the Quartese coast», explains the deputy mayor Tore Sanna, «the major ones concern the areas where it was built closest to the sea, that of the port of Capitana and that of Kal'e Moru. Specific interventions will be needed to try to combat the phenomenon.

It has not yet been established what type of planning will be implemented: "Further studies will be needed", adds Sanna, "but we have acquired indispensable data for the preparation of the Coastal Use Plan".
