The executive project for the redevelopment and energy efficiency improvements of the Porto Torres Sports Center, approved by the municipal council upon a proposal from Sports Councilor Gavina Muzzetto, has been given the green light .
The €1.5 million project will be made possible thanks to regional funding obtained under the €50 million RAS call for proposals , aimed at the island's municipalities for the redevelopment, adaptation, completion, renovation, and expansion of publicly owned sports facilities. The resources are earmarked for improving the efficiency and upgrading of municipal sports facilities. Specifically, the Turritan administration intends to allocate €1 million to complete work within the sports center on Via Falcone e Borsellino and €500,000 for the redevelopment and efficiency improvements of the "Alberto Mura" sports hall.
"The goal is to improve ancillary services with work on the stands and locker rooms of the 2nd and 3rd soccer fields, which are made of synthetic turf. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roofs to provide hot water and part of the electricity," explains Councilor Muzzetto. Meanwhile, for the PalaMura, resources will be directed toward improving the energy efficiency of the façade and replacing the windows. This project will modernize the sports facilities in line with fire safety certification standards.
