"There is no dismantling of the Marino hospital in Alghero."

These are the assurances from the strategic management of the Sassari University Hospital following the complaint by Lega Nord city councilor Michele Pais regarding the possibility of moving some equipment from the Marino Hospital to the Sassari hospital : "The Sassari University Hospital operates as a single entity: there are no first-class and second-class facilities, neither in Sassari nor in Alghero. The equipment provided to the hospital is distributed and used in the various facilities based on clinical needs, always with the goal of ensuring maximum functionality of services for patients."

In this specific case, the ASL wishes to clarify that a high-end ventilator has been brought to Alghero, replacing a mid-range ventilator already present.

The latter, more compact and smaller, has been allocated to the Day Surgery unit at Palazzo Clemente in Sassari, where the available space makes it particularly suitable. Therefore, this is not a subtraction, but rather a functional relocation that allows both devices to be placed in the most suitable settings, ensuring quality and continuity of patient care.

The AOU of Sassari "will continue to invest and work in this direction, without divisions between structures, but with the awareness of being a single healthcare institution at the service of the territory".
