The Carabinieri of the Decimomannu Station and the Ecological Operations Unit of Cagliari have discovered an illegal activity of dismantling and recycling of stolen vehicles in the countryside of Decimoputzu and Villasor . The intervention, aimed at combating the trafficking of spare parts on the black market, has led to two reports for receiving stolen goods, recycling and illegal management of hazardous special waste.
The first check was carried out on a piece of land located in Sa Narbeddera , in Decimoputzu, attributable to a 43-year-old local, unemployed and already known to the police. Here, the military found a Fiat Multipla without license plates, which was stolen in Quartu Sant'Elena in March 2023, a Fiat Panda stolen in San Sperate in May 2024, another Panda with the chassis number erased, a partially dismantled Peugeot 206 and a license plate belonging to a vehicle stolen in Sestu in March 2025. In addition, a Fiat Punto was identified with a chassis attributable to a car stolen in Sestu in January of the same year. All the vehicles and materials found were seized and made available to the Judicial Authority for subsequent investigations.
In the second intervention, carried out on land in the Su Pranu area of Villasor , the military identified a similar activity, attributable to a 38-year-old farm worker, also with specific precedents. Two license plates belonging to a vehicle stolen in Cagliari in December 2023 and numerous body parts and mechanical components dismantled from various car models were found on the site. Further checks are underway to ascertain the origin of the parts and the involvement of other individuals in the receiving network.
