They snuck into the never-born swimming pool between via Campeda and via Mandrolisai, in Cagliari, to steal the copper from the facilities of the unfinished sports facility that had been abandoned for years. The blitz of two unemployed Cagliari citizens aged 45 and 50 did not escape anyone: the report allowed local police officers to reach the San Michele district and block the two while they were trying to escape.

To carry out the theft, recovering the copper from the electrical and plumbing systems of the structure, they had hammer, shears and pliers: the tools were seized by the Municipal police. The two Cagliari citizens did not have an identity document: after being identified - they had a history of crimes against heritage and drug dealing - they were reported for illegal occupation-invasion of public land, damage to public property and theft in competition.
