From today in Cagliari it is mandatory to wear a mask even outdoors, in certain areas and at specific times. A choice, that of the mayor Truzzu, to avoid that the Sardinian capital risks entering the yellow zone due to the presence of numerous cases of coronavirus, with infections that can be facilitated by the large presence of people in the Christmas shopping areas.

A decision that could soon be followed by other mayors not only in Sardinia but throughout Italy, as Antonio Decaro, president of Anci hopes: "The obligation to wear an outdoor mask must be imposed throughout the country from 6 December to 15 January. These are the days when, for shopping and for the desire to be together, in our cities there is a greater possibility of gathering ”. And uniformity on the national territory “would be the most appropriate thing” according to the president of Anci Sardegna Emiliano Deiana, “in order not to have patchy initiatives: a municipality where it is not done, another where it is obligatory. In any case, the application should be modulated with respect to situations of real gathering: a person walking alone in a deserted street can also do without a mask ".
