Carabinieri on e-bikes to allow the military to be "more present and closer to citizens and tourists, especially in the coastal areas and parks" of the Cagliari area.
The new pedal-assisted bicycles, specially equipped with the institutional livery, have been assigned to various stations throughout the area.
The initiative, explains the Command, aims to ensure greater proximity to citizens in the most popular tourist destinations and recently saw the delivery of two bicycles to each of the Carabinieri Stations in San Bartolomeo, responsible for the Cagliari coastline of Poetto, Sant'Antioco, and Carloforte.
The vehicles, supplied as part of a broader eco-sustainable mobility project that includes the distribution of hundreds of e-bikes throughout Italy, are cutting-edge models equipped with a 250-watt electric motor and a battery capable of ensuring long battery life during patrol operations.
The bicycles, also suitable for off-road routes, allow our military to be more present and closer to citizens and tourists, especially in coastal areas and parks.
The use of these new, agile, silent, and eco-friendly vehicles fits perfectly with the Carabinieri's ongoing role of prevention and territorial control. Patrolling beaches, coastlines, and pedestrianized historic centers with e-bikes not only reduces polluting emissions and protects delicate coastal ecosystems, but above all increases dialogue and proximity with the local population and the many tourists who flock to the coast during the summer season, offering a timely, visible, and reassuring point of reference in every context.
