The heat continues unabated, with a new high-temperature alert issued: temperatures reaching 42 degrees Celsius in central Sardinia.

The heat shows no signs of abating. The regional civil protection agency has issued a new high temperature alert, valid for 24 hours starting at 8:00 this evening.

In Sardinia, very high temperatures are expected, above 37 degrees, mainly in the western inland areas, with peaks of 42 degrees in the plains of Ozieri, Ottana, in the Oristano area and in Campidano .

Temperatures will remain high even at night , with minimum temperatures remaining above 20 degrees and reaching 24-25 degrees in coastal areas.

Cagliari has been under a red flag for three days , according to the Ministry of Health bulletin, until Wednesday 5 August.

The orange fire risk warning has been confirmed for Campidano tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4th, the Oristano area, central Nuoro, and Gallura.
