It was his particular smile that got him into trouble: a hallmark that allowed the victims of his snatching to identify him. And the investigators of the Crimes Against the Assets Section of the Cagliari Flying Squad reported him.

A 29-year-old native of Gambia, already known to the police, has ended up in trouble, held responsible for two aggravated thefts committed on 10 and 11 June in Stampace and Is Mirrionis.

In the first case, the foreigner had approached a couple on the street, insistently proposing the purchase of drugs. The two insisted a lot on him getting away and then they realized that he had taken away a mobile phone.

The next night, the 29-year-old had forcibly tore a gold chain worn around his neck by a young man returning home: after waiting for it to be in an isolated street, he asked him for a cigarette and, pretending to hug him, he had torn necklace.

The investigators arrived at the identification of the Gambian thanks to the images recorded by the video surveillance systems in the areas where the two crimes were committed; the victims confirmed the identity without doubts given the particularity of a conspicuous space between the upper incisors.

On June 18, the same foreigner was arrested by the Flying Squad for robbing an elderly man in Largo Carlo Felice, taking away a gold necklace after threatening him.
