The scene is chilling: a group of children are playing ball against the cliff that threatens to collapse at any moment . But there are also those who are walking along the beach, those who go to photograph the archaeological finds monitored by the Superintendency, and those who descend the unsafe wooden steps, after climbing over the metal fence installed by the Municipality of Cabras to prohibit traffic.
In the seaside village of San Giovanni di Sinis, few people are respecting the ordinance issued a few days ago by the mayor of Cabras, Andrea Abis , which prohibits access to all restricted areas fenced off with orange and iron nets.
On Sunday afternoon, curious onlookers took advantage of the beautiful sunny day to reach the seaside village and closely observe the fracture in the upper ridge of the marina, more than 100 meters long. This unexpected and extraordinary phenomenon, caused by bad weather in mid-February, forced the mayor to close the risk areas. However, the rules are being ignored.
On Sunday afternoon, the presence of many people was reported to the barracelli, who immediately arrived on the scene. Captain Giuseppe Pitzus : "Many are ignoring the danger. Some said we needed to prove they had reached the beach by land and not by sea, but also that all those fences were a mockery and that the sea belongs to everyone. And then there are those who claim the restrictions aren't clear, but this is absolutely not true."
The orange fences and iron barriers are clearly visible, but the municipal ordinance is also posted everywhere. "Now we'll put a report down in black and white, which will then be handed over to the local police, who will punish the violators ," Pitzus concludes. In recent days, the mayor of Cabras, Andrea Abis, has asked all law enforcement agencies to be present in the village to keep curious onlookers away from the dangerous and restricted areas. No easy feat.
