After the damage caused by the heavy rains at the end of May and the beginning of June, the municipal council of Burcei , which met under the presidency of the mayor Simone Monni, asked for a state of natural disaster .

During an inspection between municipal administrators and technicians, critical situations were found not only in the countryside (in cherry orchards, farms and rural roads), but also in the town centre .

In particular, various roads and sections of the water and sewage network were damaged, which caused considerable inconvenience and dangers to public safety and health, as well as some public buildings.
