Burcei, a town almost dry: water service restored with a generator

The wind caused damage to the power lines that power the pumps and the lifting system, as well as to the Corongiu aqueduct water treatment plant serving Burcei. The reservoir on the outskirts of town quickly dried up, leaving the village without water. The problems began a few days ago, and have spread as the reservoir level has dropped.

Yesterday, while waiting for the power line to be repaired, Enel installed a generator, and the pumping station has resumed operation. Water is now resupplying the reservoir, with the hope that water will reach all the town's neighborhoods by the end of the day. Problems are also occurring with telephone service, causing disruption to customers in some neighborhoods.
