An injured hiker was recovered by the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps in Urzulei . The 72-year-old woman, TT, originally from Bolognese, was busy visiting the canyon in Gorropu and, due to a fall, reported a suspected fracture in her leg : therefore she could not continue on her own.

The rescue request arrived at 2 pm from the 118 operations center and the Nuoro and Ogliastra stations immediately started up, with the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza and the basic helicopter rescue service in Olbia.

Once it arrived near the Gorropu gorge, the Areus helicopter embarked two other CNSAS Sardinia helicopter rescue technicians to support the health team.

The wound was stabilized and transported on a stretcher with the sedan chair technique to a suitable point to allow winching onto the helicopter. Finally, the transfer to the Nuoro hospital .
