The mayor of Barbagia: «Insinuations based on an alleged dialectal inflection that become media pillory. Ugly and alarming drift, ready to defend ourselves»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
It would be a trail that would lead straight to Desulo and Sassari, the one of the robbery of over 4 million euros to the armored van on the Aurelia. This was stated in a long video published on YouTube by the Neapolitan journalist and writer Roberto Saviano .
And Saviano highlights it with a distinction between the gangs that attack the armored vehicles : "The attack was carried out by a gang of Sardinian robbers - says the author of Gomorrah - we know this because a video has collected some moments of the action. And you can hear some bandits with a Sardinian accent".
To then relaunch: «The two large groups that are currently attacking the armored vehicles - says Saviano - are Sardinians and Foggians. Specifically, the Cerignolani and the organizer Garganica and Sassari and Desulo, above all, for the Sardinian organizations ».
Accusations, those of the director of Gomorrah that resonate as absurd in the Barbagia center, with the prompt response of the mayor Gian Cristian Melis: «A well-known investigative journalist, self-styled novelist, has entered Desulo and Sassari in the register of suspects on social media for the robbery of armored vehicles in the province of Livorno - commented the mayor on Facebook - the accusation is entrusted to some videos, posted on social media. We are waiting to know the elements of the investigation against us. Then we will try to defend ourselves ».
For Melis, Saviano's statements are empty: «It is unfortunate - the mayor comments - that they want to create a sensation and social news (with a poorly concealed racist basis) based on a presumed dialect inflection that would be proof of guilt for the Sardinians , especially for Desulesi and Sassaresi».
But it is by focusing on the "drift that is raging on social media" that Melis speaks of " insinuations that become elements of accusation, suspicion is evidence on which to build a media pillory to prosecute thousands of perfectly honest people . And above all, criminally innocent".
"I am learning at my own expense - concludes the mayor of Desulese - that it is not what you are that counts, but what others think of you. But even worse, what you are accused of in front of the enemy court gathered on social media. It is a bad drift. And if it also involves a certain intellectual (and political) class then it becomes alarming".
